- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪While everybody here was friendly and appeared competent, they have some deceitful practices. This was one of the only offices in the SW that accepted my HMO policy. On my first visit, the dentist told me that I needed deep cleanings. This shocked me because I have always been told that my teeth are very clean. As I was scheduling my follow-up visit, I mentioned to the receptionist that my mother was a dental hygienist. The doctor overheard this and that is when the stammering and backtracking began. He admitted that I might not need the deep cleanings right away. When I had my mom and the dentist she works for (I couldn't go to him because he didn't take my insurance) what I had been told, they both looked so shocked and said I barely needed regular cleanings! Apparently, a lot of the HMO dentists will do unnecessary deep cleanings for the extra money. They can then file you as a perio patient who needs maintenance visits every three months. Even more money for them. So overall, I think he is a skilled dentist as far as filling a cavity or whatnot, but if you are doubtful about what he tells you you need, GET A SECOND OPINION!!!May 11, 2017by A Google User
